Bringing the Brand to a new festival concept – DCentralize 2023

Brand Development

Working alongside Astral, I was invited to lead on the brand development for the new concept of festivals… ‘DCentralize’ due to take place in Prestwold Hall Estate in August 2023.

Unlike any other festival before it, DCentralize is set to put the power back in the hands of the music community by transitioning into a DAO, enabling token-holders to participate in the decision-making of the festival, including content, artists and experiences, ultimately owning a piece of the festival pie.

By joining the DCentralize community, tokenholders will become part of a grand collaboration driven by shared values and transparent communications, which levels the playing field by making access available to all.

Driven by blockchain technology, DCentralize is a hybrid music festival and conference with the live event submerged within the metaverse, enabling ‘owners’ to interact with live acts, each other remotely and build their own personal experience in teh meta-festival-field.

NFTs, metaverse and crypto was initally another world and language to me, however bringing the festival concept together and developing a brand that could be used across all platforms – festival site dressing to digital and tokenised was a pleasure and satisfying process.

I worked with VisitBritain for 5 years to forge a strategic partnership for Liverpool 08: European Capital of Culture to deliver a 5 year global marketing communications plan, engaging cultural partners, artists and creative industries to reposition Liverpool as the 'Centre of the Creative Universe'! Since I've worked on major brands including the Royal Horticultural Society, Royal Albert Hall, Liverpool Sound City, Africa Oye, Morning Gloryville and I'm a co-Director of Hackney WickED Art Festival. I specialise in partnerships and bringing people together, along with an array of experience in developing strategy, project management, marketing comms, development of digital content, branding, curation/programming of events and artist liaison.
